Name: Dominique
Deveraux Lloyd on Dynasty; 1984-87
Bitch
Dish: Carroll, who had already broken TV barriers
by becoming the first African American to star in a series with
the 1968 sitcom Julia, was apparently set on breaking the TV-drama
barrier as well. Joan Collins recalls that Carroll campaigned
for a role on Dynasty by crashing an Aaron Spelling party: "She
went up to Aaron and said, 'I want to be the first black bitch
on Dynasty!' " Shortly after, she was cast as the sister
wealthy Blake Carrington (John Forsythe) never knew he had.
Bitchiest Moments
Arriving in Denver to seek revenge on the Carringtons, who have
refused to acknowledge her as a family member; plotting to take
over brother Blake's company, while pretending to help him save
it; warning Lady Ashley (Ali McGraw) to stay away from her Blake;
baring her claws to Alexis, who was particularly upset when she
found out Dominique would be named in Tom Carrington's will.
All She Does Is Bitch "She and I had some good old bitch fights together,"
Collins says of Carroll. "It was great fun!"
